"He causeth the grass to grow for food, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth; And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth a man's heart." ~Psalm 104: 14-15

Cleaning and bug fighting!

The air in my room has a scent that just reminded me of Nourishing Simplicity's cleaning solution; funny thing is, I made the mixture to keep away bugs!

  • Peppermint E.O.
  • Lavender E.O.
  • white vinegar
Originally, we were going to make an apple cider herbal extract, using dried peppermint and lavender flowers-but the rate the bites were multiplying at was far to quick for a 3 week wait! So we substituted this and that. Now I'm off to make some oils, and hopefully repel more bugs, or relieve the sting and itch when they do make a meal of a leg, arm or foot!

(If you're looking to chase away other pests, read about the DIY Scat-Sacks we came up with.)

Simple throat soothing concoction

My friends here have made a smooth throat soother. Simple as can be.
Mix together in a jar:
  • honey
  • cinnamon powder
Taken by the spoonful in soothes the throat, while the texture is almost creamy.  Mixed into a mug of hot water, it soothed my cough.
