"He causeth the grass to grow for food, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth; And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth a man's heart." ~Psalm 104: 14-15

The Best {my favorite} Elderberry Syrup {link}

I want to share something that my friends have been asking about.  I know I've mentioned these berries before, but since the kiddos are starting to get sick, now's a good time to bring them up again! :D

The links to various herbs and spices from Bulk Herb Store in this post are affiliate links; that means I can get a commission if you purchase from Bulk Herb Store after clicking them. It does not effect your price! If you'd rather not use my link, feel free to go on over to www.bulkherbstore.com and skip other links to BHS. Of if you'd like to know why I'm always promoting them, take a look at this post. These links to Nourishing Simplicity are not affiliate links ~ Enjoy! :]

Elderberries

Elderberries are amazing. Seriously, my favorite herb for staying healthy! I've bought dried elderberries from Bulk Herb Store and used them to make the most amazing syrup from Nourishing Simplicity. I don't know if it was just the syrup, or if God was giving me good health in answer to many people praying for me to be healthy, but once I didn't have the elderberries with me (when I went on a journey without herbs!) I was sick very often.  So, Lord willing, I'll be making another batch as soon as my Bulk Herb Store order comes, and I get settled in to my new place!

I present to you: The Best {my favorite} Elderberry Syrup by Katie Mae of Nourishing Simplicity.

The syrup is made with:
elderberries, ginger root, cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, and more!
But don't stop there, go read the recipe and simple directions at Nourishing Simplicity.

I didn't have dried or fresh ginger, so I used some non-sulfured candied ginger.  Do you have things you can use in place of any missing ingredients? Did you know you can buy herbs in bulk from Bulk Herb Store, an amazing business run by a lovely family?

Here's another of my favorite ways to use elderberry and ginger: Elderberry or Ginger Kombucha

Have you ever made a syrup? Will you try this one?
