"He causeth the grass to grow for food, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth; And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth a man's heart." ~Psalm 104: 14-15

Cooking Little House--Mexican Style! Apple N Onion Supper

My friend Katie at Nourishing Simplicity has a series called Cooking Through "Little House," from which I made a recipe this week, after noting it on a list of yummy Autumn foods:

Fried Apples n’ Onions

Just like she says, it's a supper simple and quick dish! Along with it I cooked up some meat, and we had our supper ready so fast!

After chopping apples (and my finger! someone needs culinary classes!) and pulling a tub of cooked meat out of the freezer, the meal was ready in less than 10 minutes! (And would have been faster if I hadn't hurt myself in such an inconvenient spot!)

(Some affiliate links follow.)

She served her's true Southern style, with summer sausage. We had Mexican style, with garlic beef, tortillas, cream and chilies!  Note: add some flavor, such as garlic powder and sea salt, to ground beef next time you cook n' freeze it. :-)

What meals can you make in 10 minutes flat? :D

  3. I have never tried fried apples and onions in all of our Little House Adventures... But we did do a green pumpkin apple pie! :) Will have to try this when we study the pioneer era again :) Thanks for sharing on the Art of Home-Making Mondays! :)
